Body & Soul Salon & Spa LLC was birthed out of the vision of Charlene D. James. Charlene has
been actively working in her trade for over twenty four years.
Starting at Mergenthaler Vocational Technology High School she graduated and received her
license. She began her career as a shampooing assistant and over the years and many
experiences developed and established her own clientele. Through the years Charlene has
worked towards her vision of owning and operating her own business.
Her vision is now a reality and Body & Soul is an environment where no matter what you may be
facing in the world day to day, when you enter our establishment a very unique, calming,
therapeutic atmosphere awaits you. Body & Soul offers each guest an outer physical change as
well as ministering to the total man, woman, and child.
Body & Soul is a full service Salon & Spa. In our professional environment we render hair care,
facials, total body waxing, body treatments, custom massage, and manicure & pedicure
services. We pride ourselves on holistic care and education. Our staff is professionally trained
and we look forward to educating guests on the services that you may receive.
Our goal is to
give a top notch service consistently, while building relationships and nourishing our guests.
Our prayer is that each of our guest’s leaves feeling great about the services that they’ve
received and haven been deposited into emotionally, replenished and encouraged!
Body & Soul has also serviced our homeless women's who were once on drugs and now making steps with their children to get back on the right path to becoming great women in our society. We’ve helped to esteem these ladies with services to help them go on job interviews and to just feel great about themselves within their current situation.
Body and soul has also adopted families for Christmas through Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Body and Soul has also helped our own guests within our business, women in abusive relationships. Body and Soul has invested in the lives of our young women by way of internships to nurture, empower and educate them on a professional level. Therefore, being able to connect to society with professional standards, great work ethics, and customer service leaving a legacy for future small businesses.

Charlene has been married to Ellison Lee James for 12 years. Ellison has been a strong support
for his wife in her vision. Without the support of Ellison, Body & Soul would not have
materialized. Out of their union two children were born, Jeremiah Lee James age 10, and Sage
Marie James age 5. The Family is the foundation of everything that we do.
Faith without works is dead and for any small business it is truly a leap faith to have your
own business, but with GOD all things are possible.
